Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer?

When deciding between a landscape designer and a landscape architect I ask my clients to think about the list below. For residential projects, a landscape designer offers the creativity, flexibility, and cost-effective solutions you need to transform your outdoor space. If your project is larger or more complex, a landscape architect could be and option due to training and ability to handle technical aspects.

  1. Cost-Effective Solutions. Landscape designers are generally more affordable, offering budget-friendly options without compromising on quality.
  2. Specialisation in Residential Projects. we excel in creating personalized gardens, patios, and outdoor living spaces tailored to your unique style and needs.
  3. Deep Knowledge of Plants and Gardening. With a background in horticulture, landscape designers recommend the best plants for your climate and soil, ensuring a thriving garden.
  4. Flexibility and Creativity. Known for their innovative ideas, landscape designers provide flexible solutions to bring your vision to life, whether it’s a modern garden or a cozy backyard retreat.
  5. Personalized Service. Landscape designers offer more personalized attention, working closely with you to ensure the final design meets your expectations.

My Garden & Landscape Design Philosophy

Designing outdoor spaces that are functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing is part of our design process. My experience as a second generation vine grower on a permaculture vineyard has brought great learnings to draw from and use in public parks and gardens to residential areas, commercial developments, and urban spaces. My mission as a landscape designer is to create climate resilient environments that enhance the quality of life while respecting the natural environment.
